The Program in more details:

The "Ignite your career 🚀" program is s collaboration between Grant Thornton, the Department of Business Administration at the University of Piraeus, and the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), that offers internship opportunities to students of the University of Piraeus.

This initiative aims to create a joint program that will provide professional experience in the auditing sector. The program offers participants the opportunity to combine their degree with an internationally recognized professional certification and gain work experience within the Grant Thornton team.

What is ACCA? 

ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is the global organization for professional accountants, offering professional qualifications and certifications to those pursuing a career in accounting, finance, and management. ACCA supports its 251,000 members and 526,000 students in 181 countries, helping them develop successful careers in accounting and business, with the skills required by employers. ACCA works with a network of 117 offices and centers and more than 7,900 Approved Employers globally, and 322 Approved Learning Providers offering high standards of education and development.  ACCA’s core values, founded in 1904, remain unchanged: opportunity, diversity, innovation, integrity, and accountability, and are intertwined with its purpose.

Key Benefits for Students:

• A three-month part time internship with a salary equivalent to that of newly hired assistants, adjusted to the hours worked.
• Cover the registration fees for students in the ACCA “accelerate” program, which allows individuals who have not yet completed their studies to register with ACCA and begin their certification process.
• 60% of the tuition fees for students who choose to take ACCA exams during their contract period.
• Special study leave on the day of the ACCA exams

Who can apply:

The program is targeted at final-year students of the Department of Business Administration at the University of Piraeus, who are interested in obtaining the ACCA certification and taking their first professional steps as certified public accountants.

• Curiosity and Enthusiasm: A keen desire to learn about auditing practices, accounting principles, and how these shape the financial integrity of organizations.
• Fast Track Career Aspirations: Want to accelerate their path to becoming certified public accountants (through ACCA), with the ultimate goal of reaching positions of greater responsibility in their career, such as becoming senior auditors or finance professionals in a short period of time.
