The Role in Detail
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) - Engineer to join our team. This role requires a skilled professional who can manage, maintain, and optimize our Oracle database systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Management:
- Design, install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases (on-premises and cloud).
- Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions.
Performance Tuning & Optimization:
- Optimize database queries, indexes, and overall performance.
- Conduct capacity planning and scalability testing.
Backup & Recovery:
- Develop and manage robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Test and validate data recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
Security & Compliance:
- Implement database security controls, including user permissions and encryption.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS).
Collaboration:
- Work with developers and analysts to design and implement database solutions.
- Provide support for database-related issues in production and development environments.
Automation & Innovation:
- Develop and maintain scripts for database automation and management.
- Explore and implement Oracle Cloud solutions and emerging database technologies.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA or Database Engineer.
- Proficiency with Oracle database versions (12c, 19c, or newer).
- Strong experience with SQL tuning, PL/SQL, and Oracle RAC/Grid Infrastructure.
- Expertise in backup and recovery solutions (e.g., RMAN).
- Familiarity with database security best practices.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
Nice to have:
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Cloud certifications.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell).
- Understanding of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
