The role in detail

This is an outsourced, hands-on Middleware Software Engineering role focused on designing and maintaining robust, scalable message flows. You’ll work at the intersection of systems architecture and operational delivery, building APIs and transformation logic that enable seamless data exchange across platforms. From development to deployment, you’ll ensure integrations are performant, secure, and well-documented, while coordinating with technical and business teams during implementation phases. Perfect for an integration specialist who enjoys solving complex flow challenges and thrives in collaborative, enterprise-scale environments.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining integration flows using middleware platforms
• Implementing APIs and transformation logic for data exchanges between internal and third-party systems
• Facilitating smooth handoffs between technical teams and business operations during integration phases
• Monitoring and optimizing integration performance and managing deployments across environments

To be successful at this role you need the following (hard and soft skills):

• 2+ years of experience with integration platforms (e.g., WSO2, IBM ACE)
  
• Proficient in REST/SOAP APIs, ESQL, XML, JSON
  
• Experience with message-oriented middleware or enterprise service bus architecture
  
• Knowledge of CI/CD or DevOps pipelines is a plus – flexibility on tooling is offered
• Logical and architectural thinking with a hands-on mentality
• Strong collaboration skills to coordinate across internal technical teams
• Proactive troubleshooting and debugging of complex message flows
  
• Clear documentation and process ownership habits
