The role in more details:
We are looking for a Junior External Auditor to join our dynamic Financial Services Audit team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in auditing within the banking, insurance, asset management, investment funds, securities while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and high performing environment.
This will be a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in auditing financial statements, understanding regulatory frameworks, and working with cutting-edge audit tools and methodologies.
The key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Assisting in planning and executing external audit engagements for financial services clients
- Performing audit procedures in line with auditing standards to assess the accuracy of financial statements and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Conducting testing of financial transactions, controls, and account balances to identify discrepancies or misstatements
- Supporting the preparation of audit documentation, working papers, and reports
- Participating in tax audit procedures, such as reviewing corporate tax calculations, VAT compliance, and other relevant tax matters
- Identifying risks and control deficiencies, providing recommendations for improvements where necessary
- Liaising with client finance teams to respond to queries and gather audit evidence professionally and efficiently
- Staying updated on changes in auditing standards (e.g. IFRS, local GAAP), financial reporting, and regulatory developments affecting financial institutions and insurance
- Collaborating closely with senior auditors and managers to help ensure the timely delivery of high-quality audit services
- Communicating effectively with clients to gather information and clarify audit issues
- Participating in internal and external training and development programs
To be successful at this role you need the following (hard and soft skills):
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (or in progress)
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with audit software is advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Good organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus)
- A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
- Fulfilled obligations imposed by legislation on military service
Nice to Have
- Prior internship or work experience in external or internal audit, particularly in financial services
- Progress toward a professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, IESOEL).
