The role in detail

We are looking for a Mid-Level AI Software Engineer to join our AI Center of Excellence in Athens. As an AI Software Engineer, you will build and deploy Generative and Agentic AI solutions, from LLM-powered applications to multi-agent workflows, primarily on the Microsoft Azure AI stack (Azure AI Foundry). You will own key parts of our AI solutions from development to production, working closely with Senior Engineers and Architects who will support your growth. Where they fit best, you will also apply classical ML techniques such as time-series forecasting and anomaly detection, always following Responsible AI practices.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Build and deploy agentic AI systems, such as multi-agent workflows, tool-using agents and orchestration pipelines, using frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI and the Microsoft Agent Framework, mainly on Azure AI Foundry.

• Develop and improve GenAI components: RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, agent memory and tool integration (including the Model Context Protocol – MCP).

• Work with modern foundation models (GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama, Mistral) and support fine-tuning activities with domain-specific data.

• Develop classical ML models, especially for time-series forecasting and anomaly detection, and integrate them into agentic workflows.

• Contribute to the evaluation, monitoring, guardrails and Responsible AI checks of models and agents.

• Write clean, well-tested Python code following solid OOP principles, take part in code reviews and produce clear technical documentation.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and share knowledge within the AI Center of Excellence.

To be successful at this role you need the following (hard and soft skills):

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering or a related field

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML projects, including at least 1 year building GenAI/LLM applications (production experience is a strong plus).

• Hands-on experience building agentic AI solutions: tool calling, multi-agent workflows, agent memory/state.

• Strong Python skills with solid OOP principles.

• Working experience with a major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP).

• Good grounding in classical ML and deep learning (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch).

• Basic understanding of MLOps/LLMOps practices (e.g., versioning, deployment, monitoring).

• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical colleagues and strong problem-solving skills.

• A collaborative, eager-to-learn mindset with the ability to work independently on assigned tasks.

Strong Assets:

• Experience with time-series forecasting or anomaly detection.

• Experience fine-tuning LLMs or with agent evaluation frameworks.

• Familiarity with MPC, vector search and RAG systems.

• Exposure to IBM watsonx (watsonx.ai, watsonx Orchestrate, watsonx.governance)

• Relevant certifications in Azure AI or machine learning (e.g., AI-102).
