The role in detail
In this outsourced position, you will be embedded within a leading banking client, acting as the Scrum Master for a cross-functional tech team. You’ll drive agile delivery by facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing blockers, and ensuring alignment with project timelines and goals. This role requires strong communication with both business and technical stakeholders, attention to regulatory standards, and the ability to manage high-pressure delivery cycles. While employed by Grant Thornton Greece, you’ll work closely with the client’s teams to deliver high-impact digital solutions within a complex banking environment.
The key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Lead and coach an agile development team embedded within the client’s banking operations
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, reviews)
- Act as the point of escalation for impediments; remove blockers and shield the team from disruptions
- Ensure high-quality and timely delivery of software deliverables in alignment with client expectations
- Oversee task allocation, track progress, and inspect deliverables for completeness and accuracy
- Promote Agile mindset across internal and client teams; ensure adherence to agile values and principles
- Act as a servant-leader while also participating in delivery where needed (e.g. as a developer, BA, QA)
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and Client Stakeholders
To be successful at this role you need the following (hard and soft skills):
- 2+ years of hands-on experience managing Agile projects, ideally within banking or financial services

Proven ability to lead cross-functional tech teams using ScrumDemonstrated experience with project tracking tools like Jira, Microsoft Planner, or Microsoft Project
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to handle tight delivery timelines
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC)
- Scrum Master Certification (CSM/PSM) or Agile certification (SAFe, PMI-ACP) is highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Professional fluency in Greek and English
